Meknes to
Seattle

Every step was deliberate. An introverted kid who decided the only way forward was out.

2000 Meknes, Morocco 🇲🇦

The Beginning

Born in Meknes. An introverted kid who stayed home, studied hard, and played Mario Kart with family on a beat-up PC. First taste of gaming — and it stuck forever.

2019 Bordeaux, France 🇫🇷

The Leap

Left Morocco on a Moroccan Merit Scholarship — top 4% in the country. Enrolled at Enseirb-Matmeca Bordeaux-INP for an MS in Computer Science. Also earned the French Government Excellence Scholarship. The goal was never France itself — it was getting to the next door.

2021 Chicago, IL 🇺🇸

The Destination

Crossed the Atlantic on the Aquitaine Region Mobility Scholarship. Master's in AI at Illinois Institute of Technology — 4.0 GPA. Researched unsupervised neural tracing models with Ph.D. students. Then the offer came.

Now The Next Chapter 🚀

Building Forward

The
Gamer

“It started on a beat-up family PC in Meknes. Mario Kart. The whole family crowded around, taking turns. Then came the PSP — Pro Evolution Soccer, passed between cousins because not everyone had one. Then Counter-Strike 1.6. That was the one that hooked me for life.”

Gaming was never just a hobby. It was how I connected with family, with friends, with people across the world. It was community before I knew what that word meant.

01

Mario Kart

The Early Days

First game ever. An old family PC, everyone gathered around. This is where it all started.

02

Pro Evolution Soccer & God of War

PSP Era Neighborhood Champion

One PSP, shared between family and friends. PES for the competitive trash talk. God of War: Ghost of Sparta for the solo grind — damn near completed that game five times. In hindsight, I wish I'd bought one bitcoin instead.

03

Counter-Strike 1.6

The Awakening

The game that turned casual gaming into a passion. Aim maps, dust2, the culture.

04

CS:GO

Competitive Era Supreme Master First Class

One rank below Global Elite. Proved I could hang at the top. But the top rank slipped away.

05

Valorant

France → USA Ascendant 2

Played almost every day from launch until I left France. Climbed to Ascendant 2. Competed in official Riot tournaments — semi-finalist in Morocco's Valorant Tour and quarter-finalist in France's.

06

Deadlock

Now Ascendant 2

One tier below the final rank — Eternus. Wait... Ascendant 2? Again? At this point it's not a rank, it's a personality trait. Three different games, three different engines, same ceiling. The universe is telling me something and I'm choosing not to listen.

Ascendant 2 — one tier from the top. Chasing Eternus.

Valorant? Ascendant 2. Deadlock? Ascendant 2. At this point, my tombstone will say Ascendant 2.

Always
Down

I don't shy from first experiences. If my friends suggest something I've never done — I'm in. Every time. No hesitation.

Jumped out of a plane. The freefall silence before the chute opens — nothing compares.

Floating above the Atlas Mountains. The world looks different from up there.

🏜️

Night in the Sahara

Morocco

Camels, dunes, and a sky with more stars than I knew existed. Slept in the desert under the open sky.

🏎️

Go-Karting

Various

The closest thing to racing in real life. Competitive by nature — even on a kart track.

⛰️

Hiking

Pacific Northwest

Seattle might be gloomy, but the trails are worth it. Nature recharges the mind.

🎰

Las Vegas

Nevada

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. Which is convenient, because I genuinely don't remember half of it. The desert heat does things to your brain.

Death Valley

California — Hottest place on Earth

Visited the hottest place on the planet. Found the white salt flats, licked the ground like a rational adult. It's salty. Science confirmed.

One day there will be a Moroccan team at Worlds.

We have the players. We just need the infrastructure.

I watch League of Legends Worlds every year. The same regions keep dominating. And every year, I wonder — why is there no Moroccan team? No North African team? No one from our side of the world on that stage.

The problem was never talent. It's infrastructure. It's opportunity. It's someone believing it's possible and building the path.

Moroccan football came from nothing. The Atlas Lions showed the world what was possible when you combine raw talent with belief. Gaming can have the same moment. And I want to be part of making that happen.

“I'm actively thinking about how to make this real — and make it sustainable. Not charity. A business. Because the only way to build something that lasts is to build something that sustains itself.”

Let's
Connect

Engineering, gaming, or building esports in Morocco — I'm always open to conversation.
